Trail Head

a collaboration with Nathaniel Parsons and his archives, 2017

For Nathaniel Parsons’ solo show Together We Make Things Happen at Gallery 16 in San Francisco, I culled his archives to create this information kiosk. I used collage and assemblage of his source materials to guide visitors through his oeuvre. His themes, imagery and tools of boyhood, camping, picnic tables, national parks, cars and trucks, nostalgia, text, painting, printmaking and carving, This project is particularly special to me because Nat and I went art school together in the 80’s. He remains a dear friend, and I have collected his work ever since.
